To show God’s love and caring in practical ways by providing an environment where children can play and families develop deeper relationships with each other.
Time for your children to socialise with others to learn and develop
skills through play.
Time for you as parents to meet together to share common experiences
and concerns with other parents.
Time for you and your child to play together in a safe and happy environment.
Aims:
To provide a safe and happy environment for children to play and develop.
To provide a sense of unity, support and friendship for the parents.
To help the children develop social skills and friendships.
To provide a Christian element within the program (i.e. Grace, stories,
songs.)
To provide children and parents with an opportunity to have fun together
in a situation where they can relax and the children can explore the
activities provided.
We have a designated Playgroup area, with excellent space and facilities
for both indoor and outdoor play.
Each week we have a theme and a different
craft activity for the children to do. The room is set up by the leaders
before every session. Parents are asked to roster themselves onto a morning
tea and cleaning duty each term.
Each session includes a mat time where we sing, play
musical
instruments and have a story time.
We do follow some routine in each session, but do not over structure
the children's time.
Our program is not recommended for children in Four Year Old Kinder,
as we do not cater for this age group
We encourage the parent/carer accompanying the child
to do the craft with them, and to actively participate in the mat time
by sitting with their child, helping them to be engaged and remain attentive
to the leader. In this way all participants will gain the most benefit
from the activities provided.
Through the Care Team at the Church we are able to provide
families with meals, transport and home help and general support in times
of need.
We operate through the efforts of a committed group of voluntary leaders
and helpers.
